Hidden Treasures
I’m sensuous.
Not to be confused with sensual — but I am that as well (read the last item).
I’ve found out why I enjoy the outdoors so much.
I feel most alive when my sensuous side is fed.
Examples of this include…
- Farm land. Order, symmetry or patterns in crop fields = mesmerizing. See, smell and perhaps touch, taste and feel (depending).
- Waterfalls and Ocean Waves. Powerful, breathtaking and dangerous — yet relaxing, rejuvenating and invigorating when deemed as a safe haven. See, touch and hear.
- Ocean. Mind-blowing, expansive landscape with an apparent horizon. See, touch, smell and hear.
- Fine Sand. Therapeutic to walk on and fall between one’s fingers. See, touch and hear.
- Forest/Camping/Hiking. Dynamic scenery/landscape. Many stimuli. See, touch, smell, and hear.
- Gardening. Therapeutic and relaxing. See, touch, smell and perhaps, taste
- Food. Engages all senses. See, touch, smell, taste and hear (cooking)
- Sex. An addiction? Perhaps not when with the “right person” — I like to call it a “hobby.” See, touch, smell, taste and hear.
Food tastes so much better outdoors, especially after a long hike (explosion of senses x2), and as for sex… need I say more?
