Slow in SLO
This past weekend I went to San Luis Obispo to visit Haze and take a break from all-that-is-my-life (i.e. working and not enough playing).
So Friday-Sunday I got to:
- Hang out in 72-85 degree weather
- Walk along Montano de Oro and watch the sun go down while the moon rose (the day before the largest appearing moon of 2009).
- Watch the seagulls sitting on a rock flutter up rapidly as the waves crash into them, over and over again!
- Eat delicious Moroccan food with my Moroccan friend! (Tehehe. I’m so corny.)
- Celebrate C’s birthday in downtown SLO, with a pre-party at his place.
- Wake up, eat and be amused at a super yummy, yet simple, English breakfast.
- U-pick tangerines grown @ Cal Poly — straight from the trees! So fun and therapeutic, esp. out in the basking sun! ($1/lb — cheap!)
- Hike the sand dunes at Montano de Oro and jump off them — nearly equivalent to jumping off a cliff, except when you hit the sand, you sink! The best part is running down them and feeling like you’re walking on the moon.
Too bad we didn’t get to slide down on the skim board…next time! - Eat Mexican food (fish tacos, enchiladas, and chile relleno) at Tus Amigos in Los Osos (The Bears!).
- Eat homemade chicken parmesan and pasta (baked — casserole style) for dinner.
- Eat homemade breakfast burritos, again, compliments to Haze’s boy.
- Hang out at Pismo beach with good company and shaved ice in hand.
When I got to work today, I was in such a good mood. It’s weekends like this past that remind me how to live like I were in college and to enjoy every single moment.
I need more days like this — where I never think twice about how to spend my time!
